Job Description
The RoleAs a Technical Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that day-to-day maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard. You will be responsible for various maintenance duties across our two Amsterdam properties and should ideally reside in or near Amsterdam. This is a full-time, shift-based role (40 hours/week), with the possibility of on-call duties for emergencies.In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the property is in excellent condition.
- Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs.
- Respond promptly to guest complaints or maintenance requests.
- Oversee contractors for major repairs, renovations, or equipment installations.
- Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and ensure tools are in safe working condition.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and conduct regular inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance logs.
- Assist in testing emergency systems and propose energy-saving improvements.
- Teamwork and Communication
- Work closely with the Ops and housekeeping teams to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Support operational projects and train team members on minor technical issues.
- Coordinate with the GM on budgets and timelines for larger maintenance projects.
Job Requirements
Our 5-star candidate has:
- Proven experience in performing routine and preventive maintenance to maintain property standards.
- Fundamental carpentry, painting, and furniture repair skills. Basic understanding of domestic appliances and their maintenance.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including fire safety protocols, and experience conducting regular inspections.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance logs.
- Responsiveness to handle reactive maintenance tasks as needed and willingness to be on-call for emergencies to ensure uninterrupted hotel operations.
- Strong collaboration, communication and project management skills.
- A valid driver's license.
