Responsibilities:
Supporting the Head of the Industrial Policy Section by:
- Ensuring the collection of information on the national industry (incl. visits to industry) and contribute to the systematic building of knowledge on the industrial landscape in Europe and Canada, on the competitive environment of the European industry and on the identification of opportunities of technology and supply chain development
- Advising Member States in the development of their space activities and industry :
- Prepare OCC (Observatory of Country Capabilities) reports and recommendations to Delegations
- Consolidate the OCC reports with the Delegations (based on their needs)
- Prepare timely inputs for CIC-I meetings with Delegations based on the OCC reports, including preparatory exchanges with the Delegation
- Supporting the IPTF/IPMMs in the achievement of their objectives in 2024 and 2027
- Provide the Secretariat to the Industrial Task Forces/Monitoring Meetings, ensure effective cooperation with the Programmes, contribute to the definition and implementation of the TF workplans, in order to reach the minimum geo return requirements at end 2024 and 2027 with the development of structuring activities
- Support the preparation of the information to and decisions of the IPC on IPTF/IPMM matters
- Addressing current entry barriers at the Guyana Space Centre (CSG) for new industrial players with the main objective of improving industrial competition for the CSG's contracts. The work is done under a mandate from and in close coordination with the Directorate of Space Transportation.
- Support the development of customised dedicated national methodologies adapted to each Member State in order to encourage and to improve response from European industry and feed the competitive tender processes regularly undertaken by the CSG for the procurement of their activities
- Support regular dialogue with ESA Delegations (and, if necessary, with other national institutions identified together with the Delegations) to identify industrial competences and companies with potential relevance to the CSG activities, also considering that several domains of CSG contracts are not specific to the space sector
- Contact/dialogue with the identified industry
- Manage dedicated information and workshop days in Europe for industries in close cooperation with the CSG and the concerned Delegations
- Set up and manage a helpdesk to support industry in responding to the CNES/ESA Invitation to Tenders ESA UNCLASSIFIED - For Official Use
- Support networking between the potential new industrial players and the existing industrial ecosystem of suppliers in Guyana
Requirements:
- MSc from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Engineering OR Science (preferably space-related).
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven ability to rapidly understand and adapt to ESA specific context and environment is expected.
- Past experience in working for / dealing with space industry.
- French language knowledge (reading and speaking) would be valuable advantage.
- Past experience with ESA in relevant activities is considered an advantage, although it is not mandatory
