About the vacancy
We are hiring a Senior Financial Accountant to support our Finance Shared Service Center (FSSC). This role will operate out of our Breda office and report to the Manager FSSC. The person in this role will take full ownership of accounting processes for several entities. We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant who is analytical, reliable, deadline-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude driving our team performance in the finance processes.
What will you do?
- Accounting responsibilities (General ledger combined with Accounts Payable/Receivable employees), providing guidance and support, and giving feedback when felt needed.
- Be accountable for several NewCold entities for the day-to-day accounting tasks under tight deadlines and in line with the policies and guidelines for the FSSC of NewCold.
- Processing and preparing journal entries using standard accounting practices.
- Accomplish our FSSC team's and organization's mission by completing related results as needed.
- Drive the accounting processes and procedures to ensure it is accurate, complete and timely.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any audit findings.
- Stay up to date with accounting and finance standards, best practices, and government regulations to ensure compliance.
- Partner with our global (business) finance team and stakeholders in United Kingdom in particular, but not only.
Who are we looking for?
You have:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong willingness to take ownership for our accounting tasks and related activities.
- Used to work in a dynamic, international and growing organization.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, methods and procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of NetSuite Oracle (ERP) is considered a strong plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Deadline-oriented and an ability to stick to time constraints.
- Experience working in a lean or start-up environment preferred.
- Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
- Highly proficient in English, preferably Dutch, any other European language is a plus
