REVENUE MANAGEMENT TRAINEE
As a Trainee in Revenue Management you will perform all kind of duties within the Cluster Revenue Department of YTL Hotels.
The Revenue Team is supporting a set of 7 properties in the UK, France and The Netherlands. The portfolio includes a diverse set of properties with exposure to Marriott Brands (Threadneedles Hotel London, Glasshouse Hotel Edinburgh, The Hague Marriott Hotel), Small Luxury Hotels (The Academy London, Monkey Island Estate, Muse St Tropez and Gainsborough Bath Spa).
The position will be based at The Hague Marriott Hotel, The Netherlands, but will give exposure to the whole portfolio in Europe/UK.
You will support all day-to-day activities related to the function with a focus on supporting inventory management, ad-hoc analysis, and the reservations team, which is part of the department.
Core work activities
- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through speech, numerical and written word.
- The ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
- The ability to build rapport, strong negotiation/persuasion skills required.
- English speaking essential and required.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services in the hotel industry.
- The ability to come up with creative ideas about products, services, or situations, to drive revenue.
- The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions etc.
- Knowledge of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes, and strategies (including sales cycles and trends, account management, pricing, and inventory management).
- Using mathematics to solve problems, being able to calculate key metrics used to analyze performance.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting, and scheduling, and the reporting of financial data.
Job Requirements
You are:
- A student of a hospitality or business management related study who is
available for at least 6 months.
- Good communication skills in English. (Other languages are a plus)
- Feeling for numbers, strong numerical skills and preferably experience in excel.
- Affinity with the Hospitality industry.
- Experience within Property Management Systems and Reservations System is a plus (Opera).
- Ability to work independent.
- Flexible and Hands-on mentality.
- Organized and eye for detail.
