It is a commercial company; a big well-known name with multiple locations and internationally active. The organization is responsible for providing logistics solutions in various industries and has 100+ customers. From the Netherlands and Belgium, they realize the worldwide distribution of these logistics solutions. There is an informal and open culture, ideas are appreciated, quality is of paramount importance and various projects are in the pipeline.

As a Logstics Engineer, you are the linking pin between Operations and IT. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Management and the Customer Service, RP Quality, IT and Finance departments. You work close with operations to dive into all logistics processes. In this position, all activities related to warehouse operations and associated systems will be your responsibility. 

Functieomschrijving

As a Logistics Engineer, you will be working in an organization that is constantly innovating. Since the beginning of this year, they have moved from multiple locations to one large new warehouse. Building and further professionalizing this central warehouse is pivot and they need engineering expertise for that. The logistics process could use some modernization and the design of associated ERP and WMS systems could also be more efficient. Your activities include:
 

• You are responsible for supervising commercial, international projects;
• You translate the wishes of customers into concrete supply chain solutions in the warehouse, including cost calculations, costs and revenues;
• You are responsible for making the logistics processes on the floor more efficient and you provide advise how the organization can make optimal use of the space and associated systems;
• You interact with colleagues from the Operations, IT, Sales and Finance departments; 
• You immerse yourself in the WMS and ERP systems, run analyses and think along with IT about the design of logistics processes;
• You proactively think about improvements within your field and share your thoughts with the organization. 

Functie-eisen

• You have at least three years of experience in the field of warehouse operations and logistics processes (including inbound, outbound, scanning, pallets) 
• You are able to translate the logistics processes into IT systems, for example ERP or WMS;
• You like to work closely with different departments to ensure that the functionality of the software meets the business needs and you like to participate in various (international) projects;
• Preferably, you have experience with project-based work. It is an advantage if you have experience working with key users;
• You don't mind to do some operational work, if needed.
