The Seed Health Laboratory is seeking a full-time Lab Technician for the Virology/Media Prep Group. In this role, you will support Bayer’s Quality Testing department, helping to detect viral pathogens in vegetable seeds and/or tissue. This is a high-volume position focused on routine, repetitive tasks, where accuracy and timeliness are essential. You will work within a dedicated team of about six members.
Main Purpose:
Ensure timely and accurate testing of seed quality.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Perform lab activities, service tasks, and administrative duties based on short- to medium-term planning.
- Prepare and process seed and tissue samples for testing.
- Conduct Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) on scheduled samples.
- Operate standard laboratory equipment (pipettes, incubators, autoclaves).
- Prepare reagents, buffers, standards, and media as required.
- Record observations and results into LabVantage (LIMS).
- Ensure test documentation meets quality assurance standards.
- Support process improvements and assist colleagues as needed.
- Comply with quality and phytosanitary regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
