Functieomschrijving- For heavy-duty diesel, hybrid, and hydrogen engines and aftertreatment systems, you will lead the development of OBD/OBM-related control concepts (system-level requirements for software functionality).
- Support in creating development plans for necessary control updates related to OBD regulation.
- Collaborate with internal teams (OBD calibration, Validation team, Compliance, etc.).
- Develop controller concepts for new OBD requirements:
- Analyze regulatory requirements and perform impact analysis.
- Design diagnostic concepts and verify these concepts.
- Provide clear requirements for the further OBD software development process.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities on OBD concepts and provide improvement feedback.
- Support calibration engineers with pre-calibration of new controller concepts.
- Act as a key integrator between suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop control concepts for OBD/OBM monitoring.
- Support Principal Engineers in CARB discussions (analysis, strategy, simulation).
- Conduct OBD impact analysis for new hardware changes or control strategies.
Functie-eisen- MSc degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of EU and NA emission and OBD regulations.
- Experience in exhaust emission or OBD development cycles, including control development.
- Good understanding of OBD performance capability aspects (Robustness and IUMPR).
- Experience with emission/OBD data analytics (engine, vehicle fleet).
- Ability to lead a technical team and collaborate with suppliers on OBD matters.
- Experience with Six Sigma-related processes (DMAIC, Design For Six Sigma, FMEA, Monte Carlo).
- Good knowledge of requirement engineering processes.
- Knowledge of tools such as Matlab, Simulink, and Doors Next Generation is a plus.
- Strong English language skills are mandatory; Dutch skills are preferred.
