Job Description

Sparck technologies is looking for a business driven Director Global Services who will be responsible for developing and managing the company's service activities to meet or exceed the company's and customers' requirements. In this fast growing organization, there is a need to further professionalize the service activities. It's important to make the connection between the Sales and Service organization. In this role, you will be part of the Management Team of Sparck Technologies and report directly to the CEO. Strategic thinking, having a commercial approach and understanding service is a must.

The goal is to set up and achieve the overall service program business objectives, deliver revenue and superior customer support. In addition, you'll manage the growing global service team: 3 service managers and 40 engineers in 6 different countries.

Accountabilities and scope Service teams: 

  • Revenue- and margin growth responsible
    • Development of spares and spare part strategy;
    • Development of service products.  
  • Organizational and team development
    • Stand-alone service organization;
    • Strategic development of service organization.  
  • Customer relationship & -satisfaction
    • Regular contact with customers to continuously check their satisfaction ;
    • Visit customers on a regular basis.  
  • Leading and growing the service team, which executes:
    • Installations of machines;
    • Preventive and corrective maintenance on machines;
    • Updates and upgrades on machines;
    • Trains internal field engineers, maintenance and operators of our customers;
    • Support on customer questions and needs, including on-call;
    • Performance- and operation analyses of the installed base;
    • Continuous improvement of service processes, tooling and methods.  
  • Cross departmental:
    • Development and alignment of service initiatives across the different regions, and with Sales US/EU;
    • Strengthen cooperation and utilize synergies within the global service- and product support team.




Job Requirements

As Director Global Services you possess excellent supervisory skills and you are able to grow and develop the service team. The Director Global Services we are looking for is hands-on, result driven, has a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. 

Additional requirements and skills:

  • Over 10 years of proven work experience as a Service Director/Manager in a technical and international environment; 
  • Education level: bachelor degree/ technical education;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to maintain and manage (potential) customers;
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changes;
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities;
  • Identify issues and resolve them strategically;
  • Physically working from our Drachten office when not travelling.
