Organisation
Via Amsterdam places great emphasis on design and functionality, bringing together the latest technology, service and affordability. The hotel and hostel has 200 bedrooms and 938 beds. All bedrooms are equipped with ensuite facilities and state of the art technology, USB points, high-speed WIFI internet connections, individual lights, ventilation and locker/storage facilities.
Via is a live/work/play concept with offering a great range of rooms from twin/double ensuite rooms all the way to 8 bed dorms and a Penthouse Suite. All rooms are fitted with bathrooms and showers, as well as good storage space and high speed internet.
Our public spaces is where it all happens! Via Amsterdam offers a great range of all-day dinning, cafeteria, bar, terrace, restaurant, cinema room and chill-out zone. High speed internet access is provided throughout all areas of the hotel. Lots of parking space is available, as well as bike rentals. With the above being only minutes away from Central Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport, Via Amsterdam is truly the latest word in Youth Accommodation. Our aspiration is to grow the brand and expand with the Via brand to every major city in Europe and all around the World.
Job Description
Culture & Events Manager @ Via Amsterdam
We are not your ordinary hostel. In our words - we are far from the same-same. It's not the bed our guests slept in or the bathroom they showered in that makes the stay memorable, but the experiences that were created for them. Through our events, recommendations about best places to go and people they met along the way. It is the Via Culture, that's what makes it memorable. As a Culture & Events Manager, you will focus on our overall guest engagement, as well a work on strategic development of the Via Culture.
A workday includes:
- Creating, preparing and hosting of (new) events, engaging with guests and ensuring they participate in our daily events.
- Ensuring the team is up to date with everything that is happening in the hostel for our guests.
- Communicating guest feedback from our reviews.
- Being the main point of contact for our local community, e.g. student associations, neighbours etc.
- Setting up local partnerships for one-off events, such as Vino Kilo, Full Moon Party, ADE.
- Liaising with influencers / content creators.
- Supporting the marketing team in achieving their objectives, e.g. content creation, keeping social media up to date.
Job Requirements
You'll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
- Outgoing, chatty, and smiley personality! You radiate joy, if you get what we mean.
- You have strong people skills and enjoy being part of a team.
- Good knowledge of Amsterdam, places to be / go to and more.
- You are creative and can think outside of the box.
- Strong communication skills.
- A good singing voice - you might need to sing a few karaoke songs yourself ;)
- Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing. Dutch is not a requirement.
